Short biography:

PhD: 2005, Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering, Zagreb, Doctor of Science in the field of technical sciences
Master of science: 1987, Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering, Zagreb, Master of Science in Technical Sciences
Graduated: 1977, Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering, Zagreb, graduate mining engineer

Teaching activity:
Teaching activity dates back to 1982 and it has developed to this day in the form of 4 courses at the undergraduate and graduate university study programme in Environmental Engineering. I have supervised over 70 master theses and I wrote a university textbook Minerals, Types and Methods of obtaining (2009). In several terms, I performed duties of a vice dean for teaching. I was president of the Commission for graduate and doctoral study programmes and I was a member of the Senate of the University of Zagreb. Also, I was a member of the Technical Field Council, the Ethics Council and the Committee for Doctoral Programs at the University of Zagreb, and I was also a dean of the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering.

Scientific and professional activity:
The field of scientific work is mainly the research of the effects of mining works on the environment that are performed in urban and environmentally sensitive environments and the methods of exploitation of mineral resources. In addition to that I have led a research project which aimed to improve clay soils using explosives.
The professional activity covers a wide range of activities, such as preparation of mining projects for exploitation of mineral resources, expert studies and expertise on the impact of seismic effects of mining on the environment, expertise in mining, cooperation in environmental impact studies, design of geotechnical surveys and participation in geotechnical studies.
