Accessibility statement

As a public sector body, the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering has to ensure the accessibility of its network locations according to the Law on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies of the Republic of Croatia (OG 17/19), which was passed on 23rd September 2019. This Law represents the implementation of the EU Directive 2016/2102 issued by the EU Parliament and by the Council for the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies.
This Accessibility statement refers to the official website www.gfv.unizg.hr.

Compliance status

The webpage www.gfv.unizg.hr is partly adjusted to the Law on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies. Most requirements imposed by the European Norm EN 301 549 V1.1.2 (2015-04) have been fulfilled, with some exceptions.

Inaccessible content

The four principles of the Law on the Accessibility are: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable and Robust. The following content parts represent an exception to it:

Perceivable
Because of the dynamics of the homepage, screen readers used by the blind do not always display content in the same way.

Operable

Areas activated by a mouse movement, either textual or in a form of icons, are not big enough for users with motor difficulties. Browsing in a full screen search engine is not possible without pressing the key ENTER, whereas in individual block finders it is possible.

Understandable
Links in page footers become visible only when a mouse moves over them.

Robust

In the web browser of Internet Explorer a page content always looks the same to screen readers, but in other browsers the content is not always shown in the same way.

Raising the level of accessibility

The Faculty will implement corrective actions in order to effectively solve the problems concerning the inaccessibility to the content of its website after an employee has been trained to make, manage and maintain the content of the website and mobile applications in compliance with the Law on the Accessibility. The training will be provided by the Central State Office for the Development of the Digital Society together with the State School for Public Administration, the Information Commissioner and a central national organization for the disabled.
