He began studying physics at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb in 1988, and obtained his doctorate from the Karl-Franzens University in Graz (Austria) in 1999. As a postdoctoral fellow, he spent a year at the John von Neumann Institute for Computing in Jülich and two years at the University of Wuppertal. His field of research is the application of computer methods in theoretical physics, specifically lattice field theory. In this area, he has published 26 scientific papers indexed in the Web of Science that have been cited more than 400 times.
