The foundation of the Faculty marked the beginning of the Department of General Sciences.The teaching activity of the Department includes courses in maths, physics, biology, sociology and foreign languages. The scientific activity of the Department includes research in the area of maths, natural sciences (physics and biology) and social sciences (sociology and linguistics).

The activity of the Department includes three segments: teaching, scientific and professional activity.
