Category: Geotehnika

Geotechnics is an interdisciplinary filed which studies the characteristics, states and behaviour of geological environment as well as the laws relating to their changes which are caused by a certain engineering activity and/or natural processes.

Geodesy
It deals with the application of geodesy to an engineering design and the construction of facilities. It includes geodetic networks as a construction basis, staking out and preparation of geodetic bases for design, geotopographic works, geodetic works during designing, building and controlling of roads, bridges, tunnels, transmission lines and hydrotechnical facilities.

Geophysics
It deals with the application of geophysical research methods to geology, geotechnics, construction and environmental protection. It defines geophysical criteria for determining geological material, finding mineral raw materials, finding building materials, determining aquifers, discovering waste, performing geotechnical and building works as well as for conducting geomechanical research. Geophysics applies geoelectric, electromagnetic and seismic methods as well as surface and well exploration. It processes and interprets the results of measuring, and it carries out geophysical projects and studies.

Field research works
The aim of field research works is to learn the characteristics of locations and to collect the unique samples of soil and underground water.

Geotechnical Laboratoty
The Geotechnical Laboratory deals with determining geomechanical soil parameters for the purpose of foundation, slope stability, building embankments, landfills and roads as well as for other geotechnical works.
